Re: [alfa] Biba's note on Alfa GT debut in UK
IMHO Alfa have wussed out on the coupe. Seems to be a common thread since
"The Takeover".
The 'new' Spider is just a GTV sans roof and the coupe/GT simply looks like
a 156 with a couple of doors missing.
The new car certainly lacks the individuality and impact evident when the
105 and 116 coupes were introduced, especially when these beauties were
compared to their sedan stablemates. I mean how many manufacturers can
boast the external visual diversity of a 105 coupe, roadster, and sedan, all
built on near identical floorpans. Non Alfisti still find it hard to
believe they are essentially the same car (underneath). Further, one can
add a host of other 'specials' built on the same floorpan.
Even the old 'Sud and 'Sud Sprint were like chalk and cheese visually.
