Mark - As long as you can achieve a gap between the reference screw and the throttle arm on the back of the injection pump of .019" (with the long rod disconnected) then you're probably ok. Use the adjustment screw below the TA in the FI pump to acheive this. You're warm up idle speed may be a bit high, but as long as you can get .019" pump gap when the engine is at 175 deg or above, you're ok for normal running. Adding shims below the TA piston is redneck engineering. If you're TA is leaking and getting weak, the proper course of action is to get it rebuilt, which can be done for as little as $115.
