[alfa] valve seat concentricity [Was: Re: V6 valve guides]



i'll have to pull a spare valve guide out of a box to
double check this, but i reckon the concentricity of
the valve guides, as supplied, is easily good to a
tenth of a mil (.0001"). so i'm a bit sceptical that
you *need* to recut the valves seats with each new
guide/valve. i don't recall the alfa manual saying
anything about recutting unless new seats were to be
installed. when i ground my valves, i was satisfied to
see uniform lapping bands on both the valve and seat.
if the valve weren't seating properly, there'd be
gapping somewhere.
