[alfa] Why won't it run the way it should?
Regarding the hot start problem. Try disconnecting the Cold Start Soleniod
and see if that makes any difference. Be sure to tape over the wire so it
doesn't short out. The plastic hydraulic plunger that the CSS actuates has
been know to stick in it's bore and not release, thus enriching the mixture
too much for normal running.
With temperatures like the are now, the engine should even start cold
without the cold start solenoid. Also, with the engine hot check that the
pump gap is .019" between the throttle arm on the rear of the injection pump
and the reference screw.
As far as bogging down at 3000 rpm . . . . is the fuel pressure normal? Does
the low pressure warning light come on initially when you turn the ignition
on, then go off almost immediately? Does the low pressure light come on
while in normal driving?
