[alfa] RE: No 59 Twin cam (no AC)

Continuing further off topic, but Twin Cams were made from 1958-1960, in
both 1500 and 1600 body styles. About 2200 were made. After the Twin Cam
engines ran out, MG used the remaining Twin Cam chassis (with Dunlop disks
and knock-off disk wheels) and pushrod engines in what is commonly known as
the Deluxe, in 1600 body style and 1600 Mk II body style (recessed grille,
horizontal taillights).

No MGAs had IRS. No MGAs had synchro first gear. Twin Cams came in both
coupe and roadster form.

Subject: No 59 Twin cam

I have a 1959 MGA Twin Cam that my dad bought new, which I've been driving
and maintaining since 1975.

It's my understanding that MG only installed the twin cam engine in the last
MGA the 1962 1600MKII and was also the only MGA with IRS and first gear
syncro...Do you agree? If not please advise... I'd like to know... I love
the little cars and have owned three over the years... Including the 1600
Coupe w/roll-up windows..

Thanks Gabriel
