[alfa] Re: Spider air leak



Bob if your intake hose has "cracks" in it you may be well advised to replace it in any event. Especially if that's the original hose or one that is many years old (your car is an '86?) Even though the cracks may appear to not penetrate all the way through the hose they may very well when the engine is running, the engine bay gets hot and that hose flexes and does it's thing. It takes just the "smallest" quantity of unmeasured air to cause problems.

What about the other vacuum lines?
Have they been replaced? Recently? You may want to try all new vacuum lines first and assess the performance of your car. Again; it doesn't take a large vacuum leak at all to cause driveability problems.
