[alfa] Alfas and diesels

<Of course I don't get the sonorous music or rev happiness of my Alfa V6,
(Alfa content) but I've found the TDI's own form of audible pleasure:
roll down the window and hear that little turbo spool up like a mini
(very mini) Perterbilt. Can we say Convoy!>

Yes, we can say convoy. And running BioD we'll make everyone crazy for
french fries as we fly past.

I love my 1967 GTV; owned it for 20 years. It's had a 1600, then a 1750, and
now a 2000cc engine. Nothing's better than wide open Webers (take that! FI
fans). Once my new engine is broken in, I'll be ready to hear the 45's sing.
Well, if truth be told, I've heard them, but don't rat on me to my engine
builder-friend. I swore I'd stay off it for at least 500 miles.

Still, for running around town and even on trips, the Jetta TDI, which
replaced a Merc 300SD, has been surprisingly quick and pleasant to drive.
And it surely does go up hills like no diesel I've ever owned.
Just wish it would do better than 40 mpg.
