[alfa] Thermostatic Actuator rebuilds and alternatives?

I need to replace a failed TA on a '79 spider.  My core is good, but it is 
short by about 5mm when hot.  I see that Robin Hoeven (San Pedro, CA) 
advertises in the Alfa Owner, and that Wes Ingram also is now offering 
rebuilt TAs.  Seems like I used to see other suppliers advertise when I was 
not in the market..  Do they all come from the same manufacturer/rebuilder?

Do any of you have any advice on vendors of rebuilt TAs?  Are any vendors 
still selling a mechanical alternative like the old Shankle Sure 
Start?  Offline replies are OK, I do not want to start any vendor bashing 
threads.
