RE: [alfa] holy crap

Yes, at one time (maybe still?) Shankle offered reinforcement plates for the
front sway bar mounts on the Alfetta/GTV-6/Milano. These were recommended
when installing a larger sway bar.

Don't know if AR Ricambi that merged with Shankle some years ago still
offers these.

There were re-enforcement plates available to purchase (shankle?) at least
for the 105/115 cars but I made my own pieces and welded them in when I put
stiffer bars on my Alfetta and I also fixed one of the mounts on Damian's
Berlina. It's really not that hard if you have access to a mig welder. I
didn't do the prettiest job in the world but I'd be happy to take some
pictures and send to you.

Well my GTV-6 felt like it was oversteering lately. I checked the rear tire
pressures and decided that it must just be me. Well I happened to notice
today that the left front antiroll bar mount had torn itself off the bottom
of the car! It shouldn't be too hard to weld in some kind of gusset to
repair it, but it won't be too easy either, because the metal at the front
of that mounting point isn't exactly flat. Has anybody else had to do this?

Thanks,
Joe Elliott
