    Andy - IDF carbs are indeed downdraft, and usually used on P-cars, etc.
You would need a pair of custom manifolds to use them.  I think Fiat 124's
used these also, and a pair of those might be adaptable, but you'd probably
need more compression and  big cams to make them go.  Probably better in
this case to put the Bosch back together, not to mention the emissions
