[alfa] Vintage radio...again
Slight update. Finally received a photo of the proposed donor Blaupunkt
for the modernizing of its internals. Just forwarded to the client to
see if he is jake with it. A Frankfurt. Berlin's are sexier, but should
look good and functional.
This leads to my tube type Blaupunkt. As of the moment it is a non
runner, but could swear it worked when I removed it lo those many
decades ago. It is of the two part body type with the amp section on a
type of hinge in the rear which can be swiveled in various directions as
required. Still, not enough room in a Spider for it.
For a while I was exchanging emails with a nice Ferrari owner who was
restoring an early 60's one. He'd done much research and found the same
model as I have to be the "appropriate" radio for his car. So taking
advantage of the fact a Ferrari person might want my, ahem, valuable
Blaupunkt, I'd like to trade it for a later and working (late 60's,
early 70's) Berlin Blaupunkt.
Okay, I might have to settle for a fixer-upper, but need one which is
capable of fixing up with out a great expense involved. Doubt if I'll be
able to afford the equivalent of "lifting up the radiator cap and
driving a new (and modern) car underneath" transformation.
Any takers, any leads?
