[alfa] Re: Forever Black

I've tried the "Forever Black" and was not too impressed with it. I
*think* (could be wrong) that it's some sort of silicone-type product.
The best thing that I've found for a Series 2 or 3 Spider is to remove
the "black parts" and repaint them with SEM semi-gloss flexible bumper
paint. It's quite OEM-looking and, if you take the time to prep the
surfaces properly (SEM has a product called Plastic Prep), quite durable
-- My series 3 bumpers were painted 5 years ago and have held up well.
They also have a flexible bumper filler that can be used to fill nicks,
dings, etc. in the plastic/rubber parts. I used it on a decent sized
ding on the rear bumper and to fix a ding in the plastic frame on one of
my power mirrors. YMMV.
