You do not have to remove the calipers to change the pads and disks.
After removing the axle inboard sockethead cap screws, remove the screws
attaching the spacer and brake disk. Wind the two brake pistons back
into the caliper (7mm socket for inboard, 17mm open end wrench or socket
and 5mm hex key for outboard) and the disk easily comes away. At this
point if you wish to remove the calipers, it is an easy job. However, on
the reinstallation pay particular attention to attaching the brake line
fittings to the brass tee as it is easy to cross-thread. Best to remove
the tee's bottom attachment screw lifting it free of the transaxle, slip
the calipers onto their respective studs and thread both line nuts with
your fingers before applying a wrench.
