[alfa] Advice Sought for Milano Exhaust Headers

I will be dropping a freshly-rebuilt 3.0 L in my
Milano. No hi-performance mods, except for "S" cams
and the plan to someday change over to "Megasquirt"
programmable fuel injection.

Right now my exhaust consists of stock 2.5 L Alfa cast
manifolds, and a stock cat with no center muffler.
Just have a single Stebro muffler in the rear. It
flowed fairly well for my old 2.5 L engine.

Can any of you recommend headers for the new engine? I
know IAP, Vick Autosports, CSC and Shankle (Ricambi)
all offer headers. The CSC range are top-of-the-line,
but are a bit pricey when one considers that new twin
cats need to be fitted as well.

For the bolt-on stuff that mates with the original
cat, what are your experiences out there? Is there any
one brand that seems to be favored over the others for
fit and/or functionality?

Or, should I just forget about all this, since it is
going to be a street car anyway? I could spend the
money on a better cat system, or possibly have the 2.5
manifolds extrude-honed and mated to a free-flow cat.
Net result might be better than tubular headers into
the stock Milano cat anyway...

Comments from the experts, please?
