The first Alfa I owned was a '76 Spider that I bought in '81. It was a one
owner US spec car. It was equipped with lap belts only.

I'm not sure when Alfa started fitting shoulder belts to the spider in the
US, probably somewhere about '82 or '83 would be my guess.

Don't know what the safety regs in the US were at the time, I'm just going
from empirical experience here.

a US market car in 73 would be required to have 3 point belts
by law, with associated hard points. there wouldn't be a mounting
point to the seat, though, but to the sills on the outside and to
the transmission tunnel on the inside.
