Thanks for the responses.
The car does have a brand new 3 wire sensor (but does the sensor heater
still make the heat from the exhaust gases irrelevant?).  And yes, the
sensor is now only looking at the exhaust gas from one bank of cylinders.  I
picked flowmaster cats at a rating based on engine displacement (per the
exhaust shop) - they are actually oversized vs a 2.5 L.
Have had a couple other suggestions around O2 sensor functionality so need
to check those out as well.

Just wondering if anyone else had similar experience when installing
headers.
