Re: [alfa] 3-point seat belts

Hi Group:

The first US Spider's to come equipped with 3-point belts were the '82's. I've got all the R&T road tests, and can clearly see in the '80 and '81 test cars only lap belts. Not sure how Alfa got away with that for so long, though. I had a '69 XKE and also a '73 MG, both with 3-points from the factory.

Regards,

Dean

i was unaware that convertibles got an out. by 1972, i know
     that all
tintops had to have shoulder belts in the US.

I have a 1979 Spider that also seems to have only lap belts. I have
seen no sign of a shoulder belt, such as I have seen in a 1986 car. I
hope this helps a bit, instead of adding to the confusion. If someone
tells me my car has had the shoulder belts excised, I'll probably try to
find replacements.

Thanks

Michael
