[alfa] Re: Parts suppliers

About Ed and tops..The question is...Is Ed the MFG of the products.. If So
then he is fully responsible for the product and the quality and correction of
the faults. If he is simply the middle man like most people that sell to the
public, then he is a victim of
his supplier. The warranty claim should be with the MFG and not the
retailer. The retailer should make every effort to help with the warranty claim, and
if he feels it is worth his reputation he should refund the money in full and
take the problem up with the MFG. If the MFG does not respond, then he should
no longer offer the product. Of course it is a numbers game with most folks..
gains against losses. Usually the MFG requires the return of the product for
inspection before any restitution is made.
The retailer is stuck in the middle trying to negotiate the problem. It is
always difficult to get the MFG to respond without proof of fault. If Ed is
truely selling a defective product and is fully aware of it, then he needs to
find a new line of work and stop representing an MFG of poor standard. FAIR
EXCHANGE IS WHAT BUSINESS IS ABOUT..and Thats IT. Info learned by being in
business for too many years.
