I've driven my '84 daily for the last 18 months back and forth to work and school - and at one point it was a 130 mile round trip. Just treat her well, perform the maintenance when it's due (or before) and you'll have a vehicle that's just as reliable as your Honda, and as you know, infinitely more entertaining.
