[alfa] sporadic smoking (the car not me)

I have a 74 GTV. The engine was rebuilt about 1.5 years ago. For the first
year everything was fine. About 6 months ago it would occassionally smoke on
acceleration from a stop. Rebuilder thought it was the rings (once engine
was
apart he thought the rings and cyclinder lookded fine) so put a new set in on
his dime. For about 6 months all was fine. Now it may have started again.
Noticed a puff of smoke on acceleration yesterday, could no reproduce it the
rest of the way home. Conditions at the time, air temp low 80s F, car
completely warmed up. Sat at a long light with foot on brake and car in
neutral (clutch pedal not depressed). Accelerated in left hand off-camber
turn and see smoke in the rear view mirror. Any ideas what might be causing
this? I will try to get it to do it again. This is one of the first warm
days I;ve driven the car since the rings were replaced so this makes me think
it is somehow temp dependent.

Thx

Eric
