Hey Jeff,

Welcome to the digest. It's a pretty useful place full of all kinds of 
people who [think they] know eveything. It's a fabulous resource. I 
attach a picture of my own 1600 GTV. I'm deeply in love with it. I could 
give you a few hints on where to find parts sometime. The basic 
mechanical stuff is available everywhere, and it's little things like 
some trim bits and radio block out plate and so on that can be difficult 
to find.

You'll be glad you got your car back on the road though as I think the 
1600 is so much fun to drive. Seems like a lot of people swap out the 
engines and drop a 2-litre motor in them, but it takes 2 litres to 
overcome the smog stuff from thos years, so you get the same performance 
with the 1600 AND the gorgeous sound from the webers.

I had a 2-liter spider which I also loved but I think this GTV is just 
about the oldest car I can find that still practical and reliable enough 
to be my daily driver. Luckily I can take the bus to work and don't have 
to commute in it, but it's my only car and I insist that it get lots of 
miles. I use it for work 2 or 3 times a week and then on the weekends. 
If I don't drive it for more than 3 days, I have to find some lame 
excuse to go drive someplace.

Anyway, glad to hear there's another one on the road, and I wish you 
luck with your project(s). What color is your car?

By the way, if you don't already know about it, check out www.alfabb.com 
which gets quite a bit of traffic and has great pictures in some of the 
forums.
