I don't know about any of the Japanese alternatives, but the Milano alternator (or one from a series 3 or 4 Spider) bolts right on to any 2 litre block. Connect the B+ terminal of the alternator to the B+ terminal on the starter solenoid (8 ga. wire), and connect the D+ terminal of the alternator to the green wire that leads to the alternator warning light. That green wire is one that was attached to the old external voltage regulator. Since the new alternator has an internal regulator, the old one and its harness can be removed from the car. All the old hardware, and even the belt are still useable, too. I've got 75A alternators on both Spider's, and it really makes a difference in the way the accessories work (lights, defroster, wipers, power windows, etc.).

What was the model and year of that Geo alternator that fits
the 2 liter Alfa? I remember it was smaller and 55 amp. Was
it a drop in fit? I had saved the info when it was discussed
here, but can't find it.

What other options exist? Someone was talking about a Milano
alternator in a Spider? Does that fit easily or does there need to
be some modification?

Wasn't there a Nissan alternator that fit as well?
