[alfa] RE: Thunk
I love it when you guys suggest the same culprits! That gives me a
nice warm and fuzzy feeling, instead of wandering in the dark! Dean
Cains also suggests the mounts for the drive shaft and trans. And like
you, he suggested that the hot wheels may be from the bias device,
although he called it a pressure compensator. The temp. on the wheel
seems to be dictated by how long I drive and ambient temperature, but I
would guess 140F after about an hour's drive at 85F ambient.

Subject: Thunk
I would say that your thunk is the tranny mount..
It could also be the center driveshaft bearing mount. I have had U
joints give me trouble.
Tranny is most unlikely..
There is a brake bias device in line before the rearend rubberhose. The
rubber hose at times becomes blocked..Lets fluid in, but won't let it
release.
Hot as in HOW HOT..?
Let me know
