I sent an email to Frit Neuser in Germany to see if he knows anything about
the rumor.

I bought an ALFA from him in 1964 when he had an ALFA agency.  He now has a
Ferrari agency, so if anyone should know it would be him.

I'll let you know if I hear anything.
