Joe and everyone else,
    I realized after I made that post that I was talking about a 105 series
GTV and everyone else including the person with the problem is talking about a
116 series GTV  :-(

This logic would be valid for most drivetrains, but with a transaxle
Alfa, the driveshaft spins at engine speed, ALWAYS.
