[alfa] Cross-Country Alfa sightings
As per Brian Shorey's posts about a dearth of Alfas on long trips, I thought I'd
post about this past weekend's experiences and see if anyone on the list was
represented. Left for the Berkshires on sat , saw a Fiat Spider (for sale by
the way) outside of Princeton.... On the way up Rt 22, north of New York,
(around Pawling maybe), I saw a really nice white '70s Spider with two guys in
it, and a late '50s--early '60s Giulietta. Up in the Stockbridge/Lenox area I
saw several Spiders ('80s--'90s), a beautiful Balocco, a silver Giulietta and 1
164s.... Several Ferraris (it seemed as though there was some Ferrari gathering
as I passed, again on Rt 22) a line of two 308/328s and a GTO, and another
328/308 in the Stockbridge area (black with yellow Momo wheels). There was also
a local BMW gathering of some sort. I must've passed a line of 80 BMWs of all
vintages as they headed north on Rt 7 in the Berkshires. They all had rallaye
appliques with "Celebrating 75 Years of BMW..." on them. In the middle of the
pack were 4-5 Z1s in a line. It was the first time I ever saw them in the wild,
I really like them--somewhat Alfa-like. Anyhow, newer and vintage Alfas are
alive and well in the Northeast. Unfortunately I was driving an offering from
"The General," so I couldn't offer anything in addition to the byways.....
