Sounds suspiciously like what happened to my former 93
"L" model..... the culprit may be those 2 pesky little
rubber hoses down in the tank pump.  They are known to
degrade over time and will cause a drop in the static
fuel pressure when the car is not running.  Cheap to
fix if you can do it yourself, but a PITA to take that
pump out of the tank.
