[alfa] 115.01 serial numbers

D'Amico & Tabucchi's book Alfa Romeo Production Cars 1910-1996 has
serial number ranges for 1972, 1973 and 1974 US GTV's (model 115.01).
This is all fine and dandy.  *BUT* they also have a serial number range
for 1975 (3025901 - 3027089).  I have some copies of ARI documentation
that has starting serial numbers by model year and 115.01's don't show
up on the documentation after 1974 and the Alfetta GT 49 state car picks
up model year 1975.  Occasionally on the digest there are posts about
1975 US GTV's, but the conventional wisdom is they are just 1974's that
sat on the lot and the local DMV made the mistake with the model year
when they were registered in 1975.  Anyone care to shed any light on why
D'A & T have a 1975 US GTV?
