[alfa] Re: defuming gas tanks

I once talked with a radiator guy, who also welds gas tanks, about this. He 
removes the sending unit and empties as much liquid as possible, then inserts 
the blower hose of an old vacuum cleaner and lets air blow out the filler and 
sender holes for twenty-four hours. He next rinses the tank twice with alcohol, 
then with water and detergent and finally with clear water. Then he dries 
with the vacuum cleaner and welds. It seems obsessive, but he said he has never 
had an explosion in thirty years...at least that's what he tells the rubes.
