Re: [alfa] Spica intake manifolds

Hi Matt:

Beware the awful monofarfalla (single-butterfly) manifolds of the '81 Spiders. As for the air filters, there are differences between engine displacements and body styles. The aluminum emblem on each air filter reflects displacement, but the Alfetta's had their name mentioned, too. And, the front covers also varied, depending on whether it came on a Spider, GTV, etc., while some had provision for warm air intake that was drawn from a stove on the exhaust manifold. The unmolested parts survived only thru the '74 models, but as you eluded to, the idle air bleed system was different on the '69 Spider's.

BTW, if you find one that suits your needs, and the air filter needs freshening, I once had Tower Paint custom-blend some paint of the proper color and sheen. They still have the formula on record, and will fill a large pray can with it for ~$20.

Other than the 1969 model year, any there any
differences in the spica intake manifolds and air
filter housings year to year?

Thanks
