Hi Scott,
I had this same problem when servicing the starter motor.  IIRC, the extraction on mine, done by a local alfa-saviour named  Skip (once again), was done two ways:  of two bolts, one came out with a miniature monkey wrench and liberal soakage in PB-Blaster, while the other required being ground flat and tapped out.  Mine were significantly rusted out, so you might have better luck with the monkey wrench method.
