[alfa] Re: Alfa of Tacoma
Craig,
Alfa of Tacoma is owned and run by two ex-Alfa factory guys - Lino and Carlo Durante. Lino runs the front and parts counter, Carlo runs the shop. Both do top quality work and are a joy to work and play with. I have no personal experience with pricing of their shop work but would recommend their work to anyone.
My favorite Alfa of Tacoma experience story - When I was a dumb high-school kid and driving my '63 Alfa spider, I had to repair it after rolling the car off the road (my second favorite story, but only because no one was hurt). In the roll, the steering wheel had gotten crushed, so I asked Lino if he could get me a new one.
After about six months time, I get a call from Lino and he tells me my new steering wheel is in (I'd almost forgotten). When I went into Alfa of Tacoma to get it, he handed it to me over the parts counter but doesn't let go when I take hold of it. There we are, eye to eye, both hanging on to this new steering wheel for a then thirteen year old car, and he growls menacingly "I found this on the dusty back shelf of a dealer in upstate New York, there isn't another one in the world. Don't break it!"
I haven't and his admonishment is one of the prime reasons I've kept the car for these thirty years.
As JH says - Enjoy yours.
