It's definitely true that the less you use the brakes, the faster you'll be.

Difficulty with ducting the rear brakes on the transaxle cars is getting the
tubing to the brakes without cutting extra-legal holes in the body or floor.

Even for EP in SCCA, which allows more mods than IT, the GCR specifies "solid
rear rotors".

Re-routing the exhaust (ours runs out under the passenger side behind the
door) gets a lot of heat away from the caliper.
