typically, this type of line is one size larger than brake line, but otherwise
is repaired the same way as brake line. tools and technique are
essentially identical.

the question is not whether you can or want to do it, the question is
whether you can borrow or are willing to buy the tools to do it. if not,
then take it to any competent mechanic, they generally are used to
dealing with this sort of thing on older cars. there's not really any
magic to it.
