[alfa] Spider Electrical Help Needed

Man, I am SO close to getting my Quad going again . . . but . . . that darned
electrical short in the fuel system is kicking my butt and the wiring diagram
in the shop manual is lacking a few necessary bits of information.

OK, here's the deal and a brief background. My '88 Quad is blowing the
10-Amp in-line fuse behind the passenger seat. I've eliminated just about
everything except the wiring itself. In the shop manual, on page 40-11 (fuel
system wiring diagram) there is a connector (G73, way up under the DS dash)
with the wires to the pumps coming out of pin-9 (2 pink/white (SB1)). These
wire test good, no short to ground and 0 ohms from end to end to each pump.
The pumps are both tested good. However comma the input side of G73 (pin-9,
single SB1) IS shorted to ground.

Here's the problem(s) . . . the diagram shows it being fed from pin-1 of
G107 (connector for fuel pump) and that is coming from a blank rectangle with
one R4 (red 4mm) wire direct from the battery, an un-identified wire from
pin-1 of G107, and a VN1.5 (green/black 1.5mm) wire at something labelled S26,
which is in turn tapped off of G121 (connector to car's harness) at yet
another blank rectangle.

1- What the heck are these two blank rectangles?
2- What is "S26"? It is NOT identified in the key to the wiring diagrams.
3- Where are S26, G107, and G121 located?

Without this info, I'm afraid I'll have to really tear stuff apart (more than
it already is!) to trace it all down. It's really hard to tell if I have a
wire crunched somewhere and shorting out, or if I have a bad component, if I
can't identify and/or find what's on the schematic. I've worked electronics
in the USAF for quite a few years and can follow my way through just about
anything . . . given accurate and complete information. Any guidance on the
head-scratcher will be GREATLY appreciated!!!!! Thanks a lot.
