Thanks Biba for your advice. I am seeing a general troubleshooting trend here!
 
My mistake is that the brake booster does not have a cylinder attached to it...it is the older style brake booster with the extension, which I am unaccustomed to seeing(have a 79 Spider). Taking a peek underneath the car without really getting under it, I believe the master brake cylinder is mounted somewhat in the center area of the vehicle. Interesting.
 
Researching on Centerline Alfa's website, it is indeed the clutch master cylinder (Part #CC510)

So I think I solved the clutch issue. Suppose I should swap in a brand new one and bleed the air out via the clutch slave bleed screw. And I recall to keep that bleed screw oriented on top to purge the air out of the lines. Heck, I am going to replace the clutch slave, brake master cylinder and lines as well to be extra safe.
 
Thanks all. Will give you my findings on the ignition issues, though I'd like to here the pros and cons of going electronic ignition and possibly go with a higher spark coil.
