about 18 months after that article was printed, Car Magazine was also able to
report that the Alfa-6 had broken the "record" for the lowest UK sales-numbers
of any car model in any year. The number was 7 cars in 12 months. Most of the
staff of that magazine were Alfa nuts and they probably felt some guilt that
they were in some way responsible. 

Not a good looking car though - I think it had Alfetta doors and interior space
but with bigger trunk and front section - very ungainly. They fixed it when
they built the Alfa-90, a far better shape. The company I worked for in Italy
had a fleet of TurboDiesel 90s for whizzing people down the mountain autostrada
into Rome airport. The couple of times I hitched a ride they were just
brilliant and were one of the main reasons I started buying Alfas.
