Did the conversion on my 1973 Spider.  Assuming you have your original ring gear installed, you need the starter from a Series 4 Spider (1991 - 1994).

The conversion is awesome.  The starter is expensive.  Be warned, the starter from the late eighties version (which is cheaper and easily available) will not work.  It grinds.  I installed it and had to pull it out.
