[alfa] re: A Spica out of place

I don't think Spica, per se, was used on diesel engines, but the 
Spica pump strongly resembles a typical diesel injection pump, and my 
understanding is that this is where the technology came from.

I think the other mechanical gasoline sequential fuel injection 
system that you're thinking of is Kugelfischer--used on the BMW 
2002tii and the Lancia Flavia, perhaps Porsches as well.  It also 
resembles a diesel pump, as does a proprietary(?) gasoline fuel 
injection system that Mercedes Benz used.
