i have to second the recommendation for Terry Sayther.  he runs a great shop with lots of BMW expertise.  his prices are very reasonable and the customer service i've always received has been excellent.  in addition, he actively supports BMWCCA as he is at the track running in BMWCCA club races while i'm running in DEs.  in my opinion, a technician like that is a great find for a BMW enthusiast (and still beneficial for someone just looking to save some money on an inspection service).
