E30 Exhaust Question

I have an '86 325e, with a muffler in need of replacement.  I picked up an
Eberspaecher OEM muffler, which is a single piece from the Cat back.  The
original connection to the Cat was done with a flange, and three bolts.

The previous owner replaced the muffler at some point, and the replacement
was some generic system which was welded onto the cat.  They just cut off
the flange at the back of the cat.

I do have a few inches of pipe still sticking out of the back of the cat,
so in the worst case, I can have another welder weld the new muffler on
for me.  However, I'd prefer not to, and I'd prefer not to buy a new cat
either.  Anybody know what the OD is on these, and if the adjustable
flanges from the 6 series exhausts will work.
