T'all rust spots, and FAQ

Dan,
Having my T'all for only a few months, the only things I can metion are
the rust spots. As usual the rear fenders rust above the wheel wells, in the
same places as Scout IIs. The windshield cowl drains clog up with leaves, and
commonly rust through either the cowl into the firewall, into the passenger
area, or through the drain area and into the front fender. Look in the front
fender well for this one as: when I hit a puddle with the drivers' kick panel
vent open, I get water in all over my left foot. Also the roof rails (rain
gutters) rust through and allow water into the pillars and down to the floor, or
the inside of the dash. The rear corners or the roof by the retracting glass
window tend to crack as they flex when the body flexes, and thus form a small
crack horizonatally to the outside of the truck. The bottoms of the rear roof
pillars (all the way in the back) tend to rust where they meet the body due to
the afore mentioned cracks letting water in. The bottom of the tailgate rusts
totally out, and can only be seen by taking the interior panel off (about 20
sheet metal screws). This is not so much an aesthetic thing, as a structural
thing. The support for the hinges on the bottom of the door wanes as rust
increases.
I'm sure I'll think of more, but that's it for now.

Subject: FAQ
I've got an addition to the FAQ for the broken shift cable repair in
Scout IIs with 727. Should I post it to the digest for approval? How do I
submit it for the FAQ? I can also write up FAQ entries for many OEM body metal
replacements on a Scout II except the rear 1/4 panels. I've done front fenders,
grill, hood, windshield, tailgate, top, doors, bumper, strengthened the rear bed
corners for swingaway tire carriers, and completely done the door innards many
times over. Anyone need to replace the spring in a window regulator? Done it
many times, and I still get calls from my Uncle's shop for a quick once over for
his customers. My windows are easier to roll up than down with the new springs!
Please let me know, as I'd like to contribute.
