Copper cable lugs
I need a great quantity of copper cable lugs around here (my home is
powered by photovoltaic solar panels and I have lots of heavy duty DC
wiring).
I make my own lug terminals--very cheaply and quickly. I keep a few feet
of several sizes of copper tubing with inside diameter to match the wire
gauges I use.
Cut an inch or so of tubing, slide it over the stripped wire, crimp and
solder, hammer the end flat, drill the size hole you need, and clip the
corners for neatness. A bit of heat shrink (you DID remember to slide it
on first??) in your favorite red or black color will finish.
I've used this method for wires from #8 up to #00
