Communication in Alaska

If you have two vehicles,  by all means CB.

In general... for emergencies, etc, use cell phones.  Local cell phone co 
can find out if there's coverage in Alaska.  I'd be surprised if not.  
Probably just along the main highways and bigger towns.  But... here in 
Mo folks are getting cell phones instead of landlines out in the 
country.  It's cheaper!! Probably ever more true in Alaska.

Not sure if there are other options.
