12v trouble lights
Mark,
Wal-Mart has a 12v trouble light, looks just like the
120v trouble lights, only this has a plastic grill on the front.
It comes with two big clips like on a battery charger, and clips
to the battery. The cord is like 16/18 GA lamp cord, so it's
thin enough to close the hood again. 25 ft cord, and a hanger
loop on top. All this for $6.99. Can't be beat, and the only
way I've found to hurt the light, was to roll the truck over it,
Don't ask.
Comes with a rough service bulb too, and they're only like
$1.25 for new ones.
Good luck,
Joel

Subject: Emergency Light Query
Students,
Now that we have covered garage lighting basics, it is time for the
JoelB school of trouble lighting. The mention of an old battery
powering a discarded headlamp has me thinking ... I once saw a
head plunger with a round small headlamp stuck in it, all wired
for jumper emergency lighting. Has anybody ever seen one of
these ... are am I dreaming? What do you use for an emergency
12v field lamp? How good are the under bonnet Jeep lights as
previously mentioned? ... good lighting? ... durable?
Mark
