But the 1977 345 for 49 states did NOT require an air
pump, or catlyst.  Somewhere I have the Chiltons
Cascasde Manual that covers this.  This is the final
authority according to the CARB.  I've used this book
with the Missouri inspection system and they agreed
with it.  Saved Mark some big trouble with his old
Suburban.  They thought it had to have one because it
has the holes in the manifold and a place to put the
bracket for the pump.
