The a/c unit shouldn't make much difference. The hook you can see on the
release bar under the cab is the safety back-up. The main latch isn't
visible and engages slots in 2 vertical pins. You can usually feel/hear that
one release when you pull the release lever, as it 'pops' up a bit off the
rubber cushion. The stock jack lever is about 3'long so that it sticks out
past the fender. It's normally stored vertically at the extreme left hand
side of the dash, maybe you'll get lucky and it's still there. It takes a
fair amount of 'umph' on the stock lever to get the cab up. Unless your
screwdriver's *really* long, you may not have enough leverage. This assumes
that you're not losing pressure with a leak, but if you think it's pumping
up it probably is.
