[alfa] Re: Twin Spark idle
Warren,
I have seen the advance mechanism in the distributor get dry and fail to
retard all the way at idle and cause the idle to stay a little high. You can
verify this with a timing light. See if the timing changes with a throttle
blip and ensuing drop in RPM.

Subject: [alfa] Twin Spark idle
I have an Alfa 75 Twin Spark engine with the standard Motronic FI in my 68
1750 GTV, which is running fine. However every now and then after running at
speed, the idle sits at 1100 RPM rather than the 850 or so that it normally
sits at. This is usually remedied by giving the throttle a small blip and the
idle returns to 850. I'm guessing that this is the air flow flap sticking -
any other suggestions? As far as I can tell there appears to be nothing
catching on the accelerator pedal.
