raw lateral G forces on a skid pad are a number of limited utility in describing
a car's handling. for some reason, editors of car rags love these numbers, but
if you actually spend much time thinking about it, you'll realise that they convey
remarkably little useful information (hint: how do you establish that one skidpad
has the same quality of traction as the next? answer: you can't.)
