Small addition to my previous post as I think about it...I always try to start the car with no gas pedal. Warm starts sometimes do not work without gas pedal. A small amount of pedal usually solves the problem. Very occasionally does it flood and require the major starter-and-battery exercise to clear it. Could be a small drip or leak as someone else suggested. It makes sense, but is not a scientific diagnosis
